Nothing can prepare a person for this. I’m sure that’s me. Same body. Same walk. Same face. Same imperfections I’ve obsessed over my whole life. He slides into the driver’s seat, just like me. As I look him in the eye, my eye, he smiles, speeding out of the driveway.

I know I have my keys. My car wasn’t broken into. I’m brooding on this, late into the night. I cancel plans with my girlfriend.

I hear sounds outside.

Someone’s getting into my car. I’m about to go confront the guy as the dome light inside flips on. It’s me.

“Damn, bro. Where’d you get that facial hair. You were clean shaven as a Marine recruit a week ago,” the plain clothes cop says to me.

“Uh… You know. Disguise,” I muster.

I’ve never been inside this building. I’m shaking. I turn around and speed walk right out of there.

Someone pointed out to me today that there was this TV show about a guy from the present trapped in 1974. I thought that was funny because here I am, in the present, with you. From a hundered years in the future, me hanging with the primitives makes great TV watching.

I’d gone too far. Dammit! My French is terrible, I’ve lost my party and there’s going to be a godsdamned World War in a few years. The scheduled pickup isn’t until after Armistice Day and on the other side of the world. I’ve got to get word to future control.

Lost. This is ridiculous. The machine was experimental, obviously. They promised it would be a breakthrough for all of humanity, a way for us to break free of foreign oil and economic instability. Nobody expected that the personal quantum teleporter would be a time machine. I’m lost in time. Great.

I’m telling you, the hardest part of time travel is simply getting the style of dress right. The subtleties of fashion are very challenging for an out of context visitor. Most of the really good travelers figure out their own thing, after a period of being called names by fashionistas.

I’m testing the wordpress app for my iphone. Mainly because I haven’t had time to actually write on my lappy in what seems like forever!

There just doesn’t seem to be enough time, lately. I think part of of is this working five days a week business. It’s a real challenge. And really, there’s no end in sight. I work til Friday. Then on Monday I work then fly to Baltimore to work all week there. Then ny, ny by train. Then back to Baltimore. Then LA for a few days. Then drive to the playa, work for two weeks. Then fly out of brc to Denver for another 10 days. I’m booked absolutely solid until mid September!

And there is so much to do! And now. I have just taken on building ART for burning man! What am I thinking? But to be honest, the 8′ Voodoo Man Doll I am building excites the heck out of me! As Scotty and I discovered. The difference between a theme camp and an idea is a sign. We’re going to be camped at 430 and edsell. Exactly where we wanted!

Call me. I’m slammed right now. But call me, I could uses some love. I will warn you. It’s the zero expectations or less time of year. We’ll see what we can make happen!

And it looks like I’ll be able to blog from the playa!
