In the shadows of the trees we approached the gates. We felt the magic fall from them like fine sap that coated us. The trees were helping us. Invisible and scared, we quietly walked right past the brutish guards and into the courtyard. No one had gotten this far before.

They came from the trees. I’d say they were wild faeries on the backs of darting hummingbirds, defending some grove or mushroom circle. I woke up hours later, with tiny darts running up and down my neck.  My friends had all fled, It was dark. What could possibly go wrong?

The lock was a complex one. Each tumbler would fall and click into place with each little ting of the pick. Now, to just apply the right amount of leverage… Nice. The padlock of the chest pops open. Now to get at the treasure inside.  Okay… That’s bad. A trap!

The “hero” didn’t fit into a box. He had two wives, he frightened the villagers with displays of unchecked terrifying power, he had a huge pot belly and appalling fashion sense. However, the man was good hearted and strong when it counted. But, most important of all: he slew dragons.
